Target Areas Connected to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
In 2015, all UN member states adopted a joint agenda for 2030. These are the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There are 17 SDGs and 169 targets that urge immediate action to build a shared future.
Based on the materiality analysis and the business’s mission and business objectives, senior management selected the following four SDGs, based on the UN’s definitions: gender equality; decent work and economic growth; responsible consumption and production; and climate action.
The SDGs guide Handicare’s business, and we continually set a high priority on gaining the maximum impact from our sustainability initiatives. Our mission is to make everyday life easier, and Handicare’s products and solutions are designed for the elderly and disabled to allow them to live a productive and more independent life. The sharp rise of the number of elderly people in the world requires strategies to ensure that they can contribute to and participate in society. The Group’s operations measure and follow up actions in our three target areas – People, Prosperity and Our Planet – which support the Group’s sustainability agenda and are connected to the chosen SDGs.
