Estimates suggest over 1.2 million military personnel will return to civilian life in the next two years. All were volunteers, trained with technical skills in core disciplines. Naturally, these men and women will seek pathways to fulfilling careers in business and industry. Likewise, families of injured soldiers, or those who were lost, will require support through educational opportunities.
To help meet these critical needs, Prism Medical, a Handicare Company, hosts the annual Prism Patriot Invitational. It benefits two of this country’s leading groups currently serving veterans and military families: U.S.VETS and the Patriot Foundation.
Prism Medical USA, Inc. hosted the first Prism Patriot Invitational in May, 2014 at the Log Cabin Club in St. Louis, raising more than $80,000 for veterans and families of soldiers injured or lost during the ongoing Global War on Terrorism (GWOT).
Charley Wallace, president and chief executive officer of Prism Medical USA, said the invitational will be annual event. “Our mission with the invitational is to not only help vets and their families through support programs but to identify employment opportunities for them with Prism Medical or other vet-friendly companies.” One such company, Veteran Distribution Company, was co-founded by St. Louis native and Army veteran Charlie Felker.
